Economics and Business Faculty association (EBF)

The Economics and Business Faculty association (EBF) is the faculty association for all students studying at the faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen.

The EBF is your partner during your time in Groningen by organising events that support you with your studies and help you prepare for your future career. Our mission is to enrich the study time of FEB students by organising meaningful activities and provides a professional platform where they can develop themselves. The services and events that the EBF organises can be divided in four pillars. We offer discounts on textbooks, organise activities that help you to orientate yourself in the job market, and we throw amazing parties. The greatest thing about this? Everything is organised by students themselves. It is possible to join a committee to organise great events, gain practical experience and meet so many new people. No experience is required! Everything we do is to connect students and to enrich your time as a student. To do so, the EBF has divided all activities and services into the following four pillars: study, career, recreation and international.

Geschiedenis

The EBF has evolved from a fusion between the Economic Faculty Association (founded in 1948) and the Business Faculty Association (founded in 1979). Both associations officially merged on the 1st of August in 2007. The process of this fusion started when in 2005 the Faculty of Economics and Business announced their fusion. Their target groups became more and more alike as well as the target groups of the Faculty Associations. Many activities were organised together and the rest of the activities being organised had an 80% overlap, therefore a fusion was a logical step.

Missie & Visie

The Economic and Business Faculty Association makes studying special for its members by making it more relevant, fun and easier. A good balance between professionalism and cosiness is central here.

In addition to the opportunities offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business, the EBF contributes to the broadening of the student’s field of vision. The EBF excels in organizing high-quality Faculty-wide activities accessible to all students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, facilitating activities for specific target groups and informing its members.

The EBF only organizes high-quality Faculty-wide activities that are accessible to all its members. These activities are organized efficiently, in consultation and coordination with the Faculty of Economics and Business, for both Dutch-speaking and international students.

The EBF offers its members scientific depth and expansion of a complementary nature to the study. In addition, the EBF provides professional sales of books and summaries for all its members. The EBF also prepares its members for a career and brings them into contact with business and government. The EBF also promotes contact between all its members by combining professionalism and cosiness.

In addition, the EBF supports its sub-associations and activities that optimally serve the specific target groups. The EBF also informs its members about various opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship, the non-profit sector, a scientific career and (international) internships.
